John Andariese
New York Knicks Radio Analyst

With over 30 years in broadcasting, John Andariese is widely regarded as one of the best commentators in the game. Since 1998 he has served as the radio voice of the New York Knicks.

Andariese also currently serves as an analyst for NBATV, and hosts the popular show ?NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops.? In addition, he is also affiliated with TVI Media, a TV advertising sales organization, in an executive sales capacity.

Previously at MSG, Andariese enjoyed a twelve-year run as a Knicks television analyst, from the 1986-87 season to the 1997-98 season. In 1992, 1995 and 1996, the accomplishments of Andariese and the rest of the Knicks telecast team were recognized with a New York Emmy award for ?Outstanding Live Sports Coverage.? He also previously worked on Knicks radiocasts from 1972-73 to 1976-77 and again from 1982-83 to 1985-86.

Andariese?s other broadcasting work includes 10 years as a college basketball commentator for NBC, co-host of ESPN?s ?The NBA Tonight? and he served for two years as a color analyst on TBS.

A former hoops star at Fordham under John Bach, Andariese went to two National Invitational Tournaments (NITs), and in his senior year, he was captain of the Fordham Rams and was honored as an All-Metropolitan Area selection. Andariese is enshrined in the St. Michael?s High School Hall of Fame, the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame and the Brooklyn-based Basketball Old Timers of America Hall of Fame

In 1996, Andariese was named the celebrity chairman of the YMCA?s ?1 in 10 club,? a program which helps the children of New York City develop their basketball skills. The native New Yorker has also enjoyed a long association and commitment to numerous charitable organizations including the Leukemia Society of America and the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Foundation, among others.

Andariese co-founded the New York Pro Summer Basketball League in the late 1970s. Today, he still enjoys playing basketball and is an avid and accomplished tennis player. Andariese resides in New York City with his wife Maureen, and has three daughters, Amy, Julie and Emily.
