New York Red Bulls Play-By-Play Announcer
Prominent soccer broadcaster JP Dellacamera has been calling the New York Red Bulls play-by-play action on MSG alongside analyst Shep Messing since 2001 (Metro Stars). Dellacamera brings significant experience in soccer, hockey, and basketball to a respected broadcasting career.
In addition to calling play-by-play for the Red Bulls, Dellacamera is currently providing play-by-play for the Atlanta Thrashers television network of the national hockey league. Since the 2003-2004 NHL season Dellacamera has been sharing the TV booth with analyst Darren Eliot.
Dellacamera has worked a significant number of soccer, hockey and collegiate basketball games over a play-by-play career that spans over three decades with various networks including MSG, ESPN, ESPN2, NBC, ABC, Discovery and TNT.
In soccer, Dellacamera has consistently called the Men's World Cups including the 2006 World Cup seen on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. He has also been the lead announcer for the last three Women's World Cups and is scheduled to call his fourth in September 2007. In 2005, Dellacamera called his fifth consecutive MLS Cup Final for ABC Sports and provided play-by-play for the USA Men’s National Soccer Teams as they went through World Cup qualifying for the 2006 World Cup.
In 2004, he made his Olympic debut, serving as the lead play-by-play announcer for both the Men and Women's soccer matches in Greece, working for NBC. Dellacamera has also covered international soccer for ESPN International, which has included the UEFA Champions League, and Italy's Serie A.
In addition to his Red Bull New York duties, Dellacamera has been involved with other MLS teams (Columbus) and WUSA clubs (Boston) and was the first TV voice of the WUSA (on TNT) in their inaugural season back in 2001.
His hockey-broadcasting career includes calling Stanley Cup playoff games for ESPN/ESPN2 from 1998 – 2000 and again in 2004. Additionally Dellacamera called the 2004 World Cup of Hockey for that same network.
