Ralph Vacchiano
MSG.com Giants Columnist

Ralph Vacchiano

Currently, Ralph writes a twice-weekly blog on the Giants and the NFL for MSG.com. He's also a regular guest on Giants Online and Daily News Live. He has been the Giants beat writer at the New York Daily News since July 2001, just after their most recent Super Bowl appearance.

In 1997 Ralph covered his favorite team of all time, the New York Islanders, for The Daily News. He spent one season covering them and three seasons covering the New Jersey Devils, including their Stanley Cup season of 1999-2000. During that stretch, he was often loaned to other beats, where he covered David Cone's perfect game for the Yankees, the Yanks’ run to the 2000 Subway Series and the Giants' run to Super Bowl XXXV (but not as the beat writer).

On the other hand, Ralph has covered the NFL since 1991, give or take a few years he took off to cover hockey and he’s been covering the Giants (minus the hockey years) since 1993. He also is co-host of Press Pass on Sirius NFL Radio on Sunday mornings (8 a.m. to noon) during the offseason and appears on their Opening Drive show every Wednesday morning all year long.

Upon graduating from Syracuse University in 1991 Ralph then headed west to cover the Buffalo Bills, Niagara University basketball and minor league baseball for the Niagara Gazette. He then came back closer to home for a four-year stint at the North Jersey Herald & News where he covered the Giants and the Jets, Knicks and Nets, and wrote columns on World Cup soccer and the NFL.

A Long Island-native, Ralph now lives in West Caldwell, NJ, with his wife Kara and daughter Alexandra.
